AKC/ASCA/UKC/Int'l Ch. Cattail Ridge Three's Company - "Tripper"

Upper Midwest ASC Aussie Dazzle Show 12.13.08

UMASC held a show with some great non-regular classes:  Brood Bitch, Stud

Dog, Brace, Veterans and Adult Handlers.  Tripper and I were one busy

team, since he  was in the Brood Bitch class for his mom Dezi

 (ASCA/Int'l Ch. Koala-T's I'm Not The Girl OA, OAJ, RJ-O, JJ-O, CGC, TDI, DNA-VP),

the Stud Dog class representing his dad Keegan (BIS MBISS AKC/CKC/ASCA

Ch. Bayouland Creme Brulee, DNA-VP) and we tried our hand at Brace Conformation.

I steered Tripper and his mom Desi around the ring and we were good enough to

place third in a field of six braces!

2008 International Fall Seiger 10.15 to 10.16.08

The IABCA holds one of their International dog shows in Hutchinson, MN.  Dogs are

individually critiqued by each of four judges and need to attain three certificates to

receive their title.  Tripper not only got his title, but also took a Herding Group 1

and a Group 2.  After four shows in two days, he was pretty wiped out!

Rock River Valley ASC 10.18 to 10.19.08

Tripper finished his ASCA championship a year ago, but I have shown him only a couple

times as a special in ASCA since then.  I was pleased he made the cut to the top 3 dogs

in BOB at the Saturday morning show under judge Gail Karamalegos.

After running in the BOB ring and two A-BOB rings that day, my Achilles tendon started

complaining again.  I asked Karen MacDonald to show Tripper in the second show and

they went Best of Breed in a large specials group for 45 conformation merit points under

judge Jan Mattson - wow!

Sunday morning, I ran agility with Kylie then had to race into the BOB ring all out of breath

with Tripper in tow.  We took Best of Breed from a large specials group again for 42 merit

points with judge Mary Hopkins - double wow! .

Wright County Kennel Club 10.4 to 10.5.08

Even with my Achilles still bothering me, we did it!!  Tripper took Winners Dog, Best of

Winners and his first ever Best of Breed under judge Judith Brown on Saturday over

specials, one of whom was his sire Keegan, the #6 Aussie in the country!!  (Photo coming

soon) Our first Herding Group experience was exciting and I was thrilled be there showing my

new AKC champ!!  On Sunday, Karen MacDonald was gracious enough to show Tripper

in Best of Breed on his first day as a special thereby saving me from having

to hobble around the ring. Thanks Karen!

Rockford-Freeport Kennel Club 9.27 to 9.28.08

Tripper and I traveled all the way to Freeport, IL looking for that one last point, but it wasn't

to be, plus I injured my Achilles tendon on Saturday, and ended up limping around the ring the

rest of the weekend. Tripper took Reserve Winners Dog both days to his half brother Finnegan,

who finished his championship on Sunday - congrats Finn!

Northstar Herding Group Club Specialty Show 08.22.08

I wasn't able to take the day off work to show Tripper at this Friday specialty show that's

part of the St Croix Valley Kennel Club Show weekend, so Karen MacDonald was gracious

enough to take him in the ring this day and the team did great!  Thanks to Karen, he went

Winners Dog and Best of Winners under Mrs. P.A. Gellerman for one more point towards

finishing his championship!  He's just one point away now!

(Photo coming soon.)

Bismarck Kennel Club Show 08.03 to 08.04.08

Tripper and I traveled alone to Bismarck in search of the elusive Midwest AKC major

in Australian Shepherds.  On Saturday, Tripper took Winners Dog for his second major

for 3 points, thanks to judge Mrs. J. Roppolo and on Sunday took Reserve Winners Dog

to another major under judge Mrs Keke Kahn.  Tripper is now at 13 points with both

his majors - just two more points to finishing my first AKC champion dog!

Lake Minnetonka Kennel Club 6.07 to 6.08.08

Tripper was not at this show, but his dad Keegan made a huge splash!

Congratulations on your BEST IN SHOW and back-to-back Group 1 wins - WOW!!

Keegan is now BIS BISS AKC/ASCA/CKC Ch. Baylouland's Creme Brulee, DNA-CP.

Check him out at http://www.wedgewoodaussies.com/

Congratulations Martha and Sara!

Fargo-Moorhead Kennel Club Show 05.31.08

Tripper won Reserve Winners Dog to a major under judge Mrs. J. Goodin. Thanks so

much to Tripper's breeder Ashley Roeser for consenting to bring him along on her trip to

this show.  I'm sure he was a handful, especially with your two girl dogs in tow!

Key City Kennel Club Show 05.24.08

Tripper took Reserve Winners Dog under judge Professor D. C. Taylor.  Thanks again

to Karen MacDonald for showing him to this placement at his first outdoor AKC show!

Minneapolis United Kennel Club Show 04.19 to 04.20.08

There's a long dry spell between AKC shows here until summer, so I decided to try

something a little different.  A UKC show was conveniently held at my training club this

weekend so for the heck of it I entered Tripper.  It's definitely smaller than any AKC show

and moves a lot faster - there were four shows in two days.

Tripper finished his UKC championship in one weekend with four Best of Breeds,

a Herding Group 2, a Herding Group 1 and a Reserve Best in Show!  I was not feeling

so hot by the fourth show, so huge thanks go to Karen MacDonald for taking him in the

ring and garnering the Group 1 and RBIS!  At less than one month shy of his second

birthday, he's one handsome dude, don't you think?

Minneapolis AKC Show  10.17 to 10.18.07

Tripper did well by taking Winners Dog/Best of Winners under Virginia Altman on Saturday

and Winners Dog/Best of Winners again under judge Helen Miller Fisher on Sunday.

The new running total:  three Reserve Winners, eight Winners, six Best of Winners

and one Best of Opposite placements for a total of ten AKC points with one major

at 18 months and 2 days old!  (Pictures soon)

Upper Midwest ASC Show  10.13 to 10.14.07

What a Saturday! Tripper only needed 3 single points to finish his ASCA

championship.  (Actually, he's needed only 3 points since April, but who's counting?)

He won his class and the judge Dawn Droel awarded him Winners Dog and a 4 point major,

then took Best of Opposite Sex in the Best of Breed ring and increased the major to 5 points!

Tripper won his championship with two 5 point majors, a 4 point major and a 3 point major at

one day shy of his 17 month birthday and all handled by me!

I'm so proud of my little guy and am happy to present my new champ:

ASCA Ch. Cattail Ridge Three's Company!

Hutchinson AKC Show  10.6 to 10.7.07

Yawn ... my little guy is getting pretty predictable.  He took Winners Dog again under judge

Mrs. Patricia Lanctot on Saturday.  He decided to surprise me though, and went Best of Opposite

to boot.  Well done Tripper!  New total:  8 points/1 major.

Rochester AKC Show  9.15 to 9.16.07

Tripper went Winners Dog and Best of Winnersunder judge Mrs. Letitia Betts on Saturday.

He showed extremely well for me on Sunday but he didn't get the nod, ending his continuous

winning streak since June that included three Reserve Winners, five Winners and four

Best of Winners placements in the previous eight shows.

Tripper is halfway to his AKC championship with one major and seven points total.

Albert Lea AKC Show  8.11 to 8.12.07

Tripper took Winners Dog on Saturday under judge Robert Slay and took Winners Dog

and Best of Winners on Sunday under judge Mrs. Robert Smith.

At the tender age of 15 months under a novice AKC show handler, he's up to six points

with a major win in just a two-and-a-half month time frame.

Duluth Kennel Club AKC Show  7.14 to 7.15.07

This was only Tripper's second AKC show weekend this summer, and he did great - again.

He took Reserve Winners Dog on Saturday under Irene Bivin, then took Winners Dog and

Best of Winners under Anthony Reasin on Saturday.  Way to go Tripper!

Fargo-Moorhead Kennel Club AKC Show  6.01 to 6.03.07

Tripper had an incredible run at the three shows in Fargo.  Friday and Sunday he went

Reserve Winners Dog to a major.  On Saturday, he took Winners Dog and Best of Winners for

his first AKC win *and* his first major under Virginia Altman.  Tripper had just turned one year old

on May 14.  That particular win was a family affair, with dad Keegan taking Best of Breed and

mom Destiny taking a major for Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite.

Upper Midwest ASC Show - 4.29.07

Tripper went Winners Dog and Best of Winners for a three point major under judge

Virginia Altman, putting him at 12 points (all major wins!) at less than a year old.  He needs just

three points for his ASCA championship.  He is also pictured below with his dad Keegan.

On The Border ASF Show - 2.17.07

All I can say is "wow"!  At just 9 months, Tripper goes Winners Dog/Best of Opposite

(over three dog specials including his dad Keegan) under judge Nikki Marenbach-Hengy to take

his first ASCA points *and* his first (four point) major.  He tops that in the next show by going

Winners Dog/Best of Winners/Best of Opposite (over three dog specials again) under judge

Heather Herron for an unbelievable five point major. Thank you Nikki and Heather!

Minnesota ASC Show - 02.04.07

Tripper starts making waves - he goes Reserve Winners Dog to a major both days at the

Minnesota ASC show.  Thank you judges Jean Peterson and Mary Moran.
